Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation focusing on citizenship, communications, globalization and multilateral diplomacy. It is a tremendous opportunity for students to prepare themselves for higher level learning. Students returning from a MUN conference later become better students in most of their school subjects. As well, having MUN experience is known to enhance one’s chances of being accepted at a preferred university.

EIS Secondary students were invited to represent the Republic of Turkey in May 2010 at the Model United Nations of Lübeck (MUNOL) in Lübeck, Germany. This conference drew over 400 students to attend from eleven different countries, including: Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and Denmark.

Subsequent to this, our MUN students have been invited to other MUN conferences in Sweden, Germany, Portugal, France and Denmark. Our Lower Secondary students aged 11-13 attended the prestigious Paris Annual Conference for middle school Model United Nations (PACMUN) held at the American School of Paris 25-27 March 2011.
